Carter started his coaching career at East Ridge Middle School in Russellville where he worked diligently for 16 years expanding youth wrestling across the state, and was a founding coach of the middle school volleyball conferences that exist today in our area. Carter started Extreme Wrestling in 2013 to provide athletes an opportunity to take part in a "club/travel" league without the barrier of financial burdens. Volleyball was added to the Extreme Team Sports family in 2014 and today over 100 young men and women compete under the Extreme Team club name. Carter was inducted into the Tennessee Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 2018 for his lifetime service to the sport of wrestling and his dedication to the youth in our area. Striving to instill the character traits of Never Give Up and Never Quit in the athletes he coaches, Carter understands and firmly believes that athletics is the ground upon which life lessons are both taught and learn! Dedicated to coaching for the right reasons, Carter proudly proclaims the message of Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, do it with all your heart as you are doing it for God and not man" In other words "GO EXTREME!!"
